IPL Treatment For Pigmentation

How does it work?

Using focused pulses of broad-spectrum light, the IPL treatment reduces sunspots, freckles, uneven skin tone, and superficial pigmentation. Indeed, IPL treatment for pigmentation removal is one of the fastest and easiest ways of treating skin blemishes.

IPL also focuses on a dark pigment called melanin. The treatment breaks up melanin's cells to eliminate dark spots, freckles, and other discoloration due to UV exposure. Following treatment, these dark spots will either scab over and flake away or be removed naturally by the body's lymphatic system.

Pigmentation treatments can be performed on most areas, depending on eligibility.

A patch test and consultation must be performed prior to your appointment.

IPL HAIR REMOVAL

IPL hair removal works by using intense pulses of light to target the hair follicles. The light energy is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles, which then converts it into heat. The heat damages the hair follicle, which then slows down or prevents future hair growth.

The procedure begins with a consultation , to determine and assess your skin and hair type and determine the best settings for the treatment. Before the IPL treatment, you will need to apply a cooling gel to your skin to protect it from the heat and ensure that the light energy is absorbed by the hair follicles.

Once the gel is applied, the IPL device is pressed onto the skin, and the light pulses are emitted. The light pulses target the hair follicles, which absorb the light energy and convert it into heat. The heat then damages the hair follicle, which slows down or prevents future hair growth.

The treatment can take anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the treatment area. The number of treatments required varies depending on the individual's skin and hair type, as well as the area being treated.

For ALL of our IPL services a thorough consultation and patch test MUST be performed PRIOR to your treatment, to determine weather or not you may be suitable for IPL.

Forms can be found on our booking system and may be filled out prior to your consult appointment. A consult in person and patch test is STILL required.

Consultation's are $50 and may be deducted from your treatment if you wish to go ahead.
